Otto Kirchner was a well known Bavarian painter of potraits and genre scenes.

This wonderful image shows an elderly gentleman in his library, writing a letter by lamplight. He wears a red jacket and embroidered vest.

The painting is signed Otto Kirchner, Muenchen (Munich), in the upper right hand corner.
