Eugen Henziross was born in Niederbuchsiten near Solothurn and died in Bern. He was a painter, art instructor, and designer of posters influenced by Jugendstil and Art Deco styles. He depicted the beautiful landscapes around his native Solothurn and Bern and worked as an illustrator for several newspapers. We find Henziross’s work very evocative of Thomas Hart Benton and the American regionalists.
