The Bernese painter and graphic artist Hermann Platner studied at the Academie de la Grande Chaumier in Paris with Charles Blanc and later traveled throughout Europe. He is a recipient of the Art Prize of the City of Bern.
His works span many different media – oil, watercolor, drawings, and collagues and his favorite subjects included landscapes, street scenes, ports and boats.
