Jean-Michel Moreau (26 March 1741 – 30 November 1814), also called Moreau le Jeune was a French artist, illustrator and engraver. Moreau was best known for his illustrations of the Ancien Regime royal court of France. He spent six months in Italy in 1785, and this drawing of a Contadina or Italian Peasant girl may have been done at that time.
