Josefine Batke-Koller – Elf with Bumble Bee for the book: Mixtebix, the Herbal Doctor

Charming original mixed media illustration by Josephine Bakte-Koller for her children’s book, “Mixtebix, der Kräuterdoktor” (Mixtebix, the Herbal Doctor) published in Vienna in 1956.

Josefine Batke-Koller (1897 Vienna – 1967 Vienna) studied drawing in Munich and later at the Wiener Akademie der bildenden Künste with Rudolf Jettmar und Josef Jungwirth. She later became well known for her charming Christmas cards, and other holiday illustrations.
