Laurenz Halder – Zuerich: Two Antique Engravings Circa 1790
Laurenz Halder (1765-1821) was a mapmaker and engraver from St. Gallen who was also active in Zuerich. These engravings date to circa 1790
Zurich as it Appeared in 1256 – View of the Left bank of the Limmat – linkes Limmatufer.
Two late 18th Century or early 19th Century engravings after older originals. Each is signed “Halder Sculpt” in the plate lower right. Handcolored with grey watercolor paint. Both prints bear the collector’s mark “Sammlung Kasper Christen” on the reverse. Some staining and spotting as shown.
