The German painter and illustrator Kurt OPITZ studied at the Leipzig Academy and remained most of his life in that city.

This intereting collage shows the influence of Dadaism and appears to have been a project for the cover for a collection of stories by Guy de Maupassant, the great French short story writer.

 The artist is listed in the Benezit, Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Dressler.

 It is not signed or dated.  There is a Nachlass Stempel (Estate Stamp) on the back.
