Beautiful renaissance period engraving of a scene from the story of the prodigal son, the famous biblical story of redemption.  Depicted here is the scene in which the father divides his inheritance, and one of his two sons takes his half of the money and departs.   From a series of illustrations of the entire story – Circa 1640.
